In the deep waters near the lodge, Mr Bob Woods had a big fish on the line, he thought a trophy northern or what could it be?? After an exciting hour later , he pulled in a large sturgeon over 100 lbs. It was quickly released and guide Todd Knox and Bob's friend Tim, could not believe what they had seen!! Congratulations Bob!! Just some of the exciting fishing at Pine Island the summer of 2015! Our senior guides, David, Alan, Todd, Lori, Doug, and Gerry have helped send many guests home with big smiles on their faces and lots of fish stories to share with friends!!..

Even tho' water levels are a little above normal.....guests are continually catching limits of all three species: northern pike, smallmouth bass and walleye. Pine Island guides are the best in all of Canada and prove this every day with their knowledge of the fishery and their excellent people skills, relating to all situations with smiles and helpful information re the fishery to all our guests!!

All of us at Pine Island are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our great friend, Pat Cure on Apr. 14, wife of Donnie Cure. Pat managed the Petro Canada store and prior to that worked with Woody and son Gary for many years in the same location. Many of our guests will remember Pat as always friendly and a big smile for everyone.
