Local Artist Spotlight: ViRL Preferred Genres: Techno, Tech House, Deep Tech / Minimal, House, Deep House Who is ViRL?... ViRL is a DJ and producer from Ottawa, Canada. He owns and manages a music promotion company called Helix Music. After years of following underground music from the dance floor, he dove feet first into the realm of DJing and music production in order to expand upon his love for music. While ViRL is versatile with a wide range of musical genres, ranging from Techno, Tech House, Minimal and Deep Tech, House and Deep House, his primary love is for Techno. His true sound is very unique, and can best be described as dark, minimal and groovy, morphing into heavy hitting and aggressive with occasional melodic elements. He enjoys playing throwbacks and strongly believes in taking risks while playing live. Who inspires ViRL? He gets much of his inspiration from artists such as Jay Lumen, Pan-Pot, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Ben Klock, Coyu, Drunken Kong and Chris Liebing. We at Pluralist have been to many of his shows, and we can tell you he is easily on the same level as all these artists. If you ever get a chance to see him play all night long, take it! We asked ViRL what he loved most about the music community: I love that the music community is for the most part inclusive and judgement free. With underground music there is no room for the bullying and aggression that you see in many other areas. It allows you to be you and dance along like-minded individuals. You can catch ViRL tonight, May 5th 2020, opening for Julian Jeweil at City At Night. Be sure to check out his music on SoundCloud and like him on Facebook! https://soundcloud.com/virl_official #localartist #dj #livemusic #musicproducer #techno #housemusic #rave #edm #plur #ottawaartists #localtalent #electronicmusic #party #pluralist #localdjs Jaime James Sam Josh

Local Artist Spotlight: Joe Juarez Preferred Genres: House, tech , progressive, melodic, techno (the journey) Who is Joe Juarez?... Joe Juarez came bursting onto the scene over 25 years ago playing various venues across the country until landing a residency at the Icon, Ottawa’s premier ‘Big City’ gay and straight nightclub. From there, he also played a weekly Saturday night event at Atomic Nightclub, called Escape. Joe was able to play alongside some of the biggest DJs in the world, such as: Eric Morillo, David Morales Daft Punk and long time Atomic resident Max Graham. We asked Joe what he loved about the music community, he said: There is nothing more special than sharing the things you love with others, and for me music makes that happen on an instantaneous level. "Everyone Together - All For The Party" Dancing to the beat of one drum, unified and sharing the same moment. It is very spiritual for me to share these feelings with a room full of friends, loved ones and fans of the music. Read more on our website! Link in bio. Where can you catch him next? You can catch Joe Juarez at City At Night supporting Carlo Lio and don’t forget to check out his Instagram and SoundCloud. #localartist #localdjs #electronicmusic #ottawanightlife #events #house #techno Ottawa, Ontario
