Once upon a time, there was a man with a passion for race horses, both TB and AQHA. He imported a bay roan AQHA grandson of Clabber Bar from the US to Alberta in the 70’s and proceeded to set track records with him. The fellow was Ernie Keller and the horse was Laico Leo Bar. I have personally owned two, and ridden and trained several, direct sons and daughters of Laico Leo Bar. They proved themselves fast, cowy, wickedly smart and had impeccable conformation. Cracker is a ...double grandson of Laico Leo Bar. All that to say that we wish to send our condolences out to the family and friends of Ernie Keller on his passing. He was very well known in the racing community throughout AB and BC, training winners right up to the end with one of his last being Light Fast Fleet in the 2020 Alberta Breeders Classic. RIP Mr Keller, you left your stamp on the industry.

A lovely photo of a few Cracker Crumb Incubators hanging out in the frigid temps of Alberta winter. Judging by all the snow blankets they’re wearing they’re warm and cozy inside!!

Happy horse day to everyone with a love of these amazing hoofed animals. Just for fun I thought I’d include what four generations of breeding looks like in my world. 1. Laico Leo Bar, the start of it all. 2. Quixote Laico, Laico’s son. 3. Polly Had A Cracker, Quixote’s son. ... 4. SteelTheCrackerJacks, Cracker’s son. Show me your horses!! Feel free to add your pictures here and tell us who they are!
