Meet Joyce! Joyce is one of the friendly faces you'll see when you visit Metro during their round up at the register campaign supporting the Prince Edward Count...y Memorial Hospital Foundation. Until August 13, Picton's Metro employees will be asking customers to donate $2.00 at the register to help Back the Build for a new hospital in Prince Edward County. Thank you to everyone who has given so far! The next time you shop at Metro, be sure to stop and say hello to Joyce or one of the other greeters on hand and help us #BacktheBuild for our new County hospital!

Some musicians have decided to take five during the pandemic. Others are getting creative. Well known County musician, Fraser Hardman, and his wife Robyn have c...o-written a song about the coronavirus that will benefit the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. My wife and I were talking about all the stuff happening during this crazy time, and the song started coming together. While the virus is clearly something nobody would want and has had so many negative effects, there are still so many good and positive things coming out of it, and we tried to focus on those in the song, said Hardman. Hardman performs regularly as a member of The Frere Brothers, and with Celtic/folk band Seventh Town. He also performs a weekly rock’n’roll gig with Peter Rea. Crazy Covid World is a song Hardman produced with the help of his fellow musicians in Seventh Town. Just as it has silenced live music in local pubs and theatres, the coronavirus has forced local musicians to press pause on their live performances. But Hardman and Seventh Town haven’t skipped a beat, with each band member recording their piece of the song remotely. It is Hardman’s hope that Crazy Covid World will help raise donations for the PECMH Foundation during the COVID-19 situation. That idea inspired Hardman to reach out to 99.3 County FM to ask them to play the song. The station agreed and Crazy Covid World is now playing on rotation. Listeners who would like to own a copy of the song are encouraged to reach out to the PECMH Foundation to make a donation of any size which will support the PECMHF’s area of greatest need. In return, a digital copy of the song will be e-mailed to you. The listener will receive a tax receipt for their donation, minus $1.00, as that is the fair market value of the song. One hundred percent of your gift will benefit PECMHF. To make a gift and obtain a copy of Crazy Covid World, please call the PECMH Foundation office at 613-476-1008 ext. 4502. Donations may also be mailed to the PECMH Foundation at 403 Main St, Picton, ON K0K 2T0. Please cite Crazy Covid World in the memo line and include your e-mail address. You may also visit the PECMHF website at www.pecmhf.ca. When making a gift online, please make the gift in honour of Crazy Covid World. Happy Friday! Throwback photo here from our plant sale, I think this was 6 years ago, but don’t quote me on that. We have been running the plant sale now for ab...out 15 years, we have lost count, and will once again welcome you to the greenhouse over the next several weekends. . How things will look. You have two options this year. Order and pay online and pick up in person by either coming into the greenhouse to pick it up or having us bring it to your car for you. Your second option will be to come in, pick out and pay for your plants in the greenhouse. . Space is tight in our greenhouse, we are not a greenhouse meant to have a lot of shoppers in it even on regular years, so only one customer in the greenhouse at a time. This year we do not have it set up for you to wander through the potted veggie plants and select your own. Instead you will make your selections from our description sheets and we will go and fill your order and bring it to you. We will be accepting cash and credit card (not debit unfortunately as our square system is the credit card only system, which also means no debit card with the credit capability). . See you soon and thank you for supporting local! . . . . #greenhouse #pec #veggies #gardening #grownyourown #victorygarden #greenthumb #tomatoes #peppers #cucumbers #hotpeppers #digginginthedirt #familyfarm #4generationfarm #plantsale #supportlocal
