Christmas Eve, we were treated to carolling from Saint Thomas Anglican Church Vernon. They toured all the way around the outside of the building so all residents could catch a glimpse and possibly hear their carolling. Thank you so much folks for the gift of music!

Santa Clause visited Qu’Appelle House today! As Christmas will be celebrated a little differently, I thought our celebration had to be EXTRA special this year! The Residents had a busy afternoon of opening Santa Gifts, games to be played, Santa photos, a bit of carolling, and we can’t forget about the special Christmas Cake & Eggnog/Rum! The Christmas Treat Cart is making its rounds this morning

We celebrated another milestone today! Betty turned 100 years young today! A testament to her caring nature is the crowd that showed up to sing Happy Birthday to her today.. (Video posted with consent)

This Christmas Season we are so thankful for our Local Businesses! These ones in particular have earned a special place in our !! Thank you so much for putting a smile on our Senior’s faces! They were sure spoiled today! Asha-Rose Bakery and Coffeehousecatered a wonderful meal for our Residents today (Sweet & Sour Meatballs, Rice, and Carrots). Yum!! Not only that, they had clients donate Christmas Cards and puzzle books. RMX Digital donated some really neat CUSTOM pu...zzles featuring some special landmarks in Regina! But First, Tea provided some fresh steeped tea for everyone to enjoy. House of Paws Pet Boutique brought cards and ornaments made by a clients Classroom. Kinetic Auto Service Ltd brought personalized cards and arranged everything to make this day special for our Residents. Birthdays are being celebrated a little bit differently this year.. Especially for our Seniors. However, we are seeing, with a bit of creativity, it can still be very special! It was a busy day at Qu’Appelle House today! We finished all 55 Christmas Signs to dress up each Resident’s Door!! We also had some surprise visitors at our window! Happy Halloween!! We celebrated yesterday with our Haunted Happy Hour, a few Contests to be won, and the Annual Staff Costume Parade! The Residents were able to vote for their favourite Decorated Pumpkin and try to guess how many Seeds would be in the Pumpkin! Our Winners enjoyed a Halloween Treat Bag! 105 years young I just HAD to add this video. We are so proud of our Laura. Laura has now lived through 2 world pandemics! 1918 and 2020! She is a retired nurse and was the FIRST Infection Control Nurse in Regina. For those of you who are wondering, Laura keeps everyone of us on our toes here at Qu ‘Appelle House.

Well!!!! The deed is done! What an awesome wedding of our Sascha and Wagner . It was a beautiful ceremony, and the Residents were thrilled! We toasted the couple with champagne!!! CONGRATULATIONS Sascha and Wagner

Residents in long term care homes are struggling with fear and isolation during restrictions on access in place due to COVID-19. In the legislature last month, ...I highlighted the great work that staff at Qu'Appelle House are doing to help connect residents with the community members through a pen pal program. I've been hearing a lot of concerns related to short-staffing at long term care homes when speaking with constituents and the impact that has on residents' ability to visit family. The staff at Qu'Appelle House and other long term care homes are working extremely hard in difficult circumstances, and it's time the Sask Party acknowledge their value and provide funding for more staff in these residences. Thank you to all at Qu'Appelle House for everything you do!

We are so blessed to have our Ladies Auxiliary - they have continued to spoil us from afar! Today, they purchased a KFC lunch for the Residents & Staff to enjoy!! THANK YOU SO MUCH
