Check out this great article. We want our children to be intrinsically motivated and to find the joy and pride in doing things for themselves, not for the adults in their lives. I invite you to have a read.
The great team at Resilience Now for Parents have put together this book to support families as they navigate the return to school during COVID-19. The ebook is available as a free download.
I will be facilitating the two Fall cohorts that will begin September 23rd. Check it out! :)
A strong case for childhood with a lot more free play. "A great deal of research has shown that people are most creative when infused by the spirit of play, when they see themselves as engaged in a task just for fun." Kids involved with a lot of free play " learn to take responsibility for themselves and their community, and they learn that life is fun, even (maybe especially) when it involves doing things that are difficult."
Need resilience? Let's teach our kids to learn to notice, name, and navigate all the emotions. I'm a big fan of Susan David. After hearing her speak on a podcast The Ultimate Health Podcast: (https://ultimatehealthpodcast.com/susan-david/) a few years ago, I read her book Emotional Agility. It was my favourite read of 2018. I highly recommend!
