RCMP Depot Division 19.11.2020

Today, at 1100, the hustle and bustle at the RCMP Academy will come to a halt for Two Minutes of Silence to honour, thank and remember the courageous heroes who have lost their lives serving our country. Lest we forget. Pictured here are members of Depot Division holding their headdress from their previous military service. #CanadaRemembers #WeRemember #LestWeForget

#TrafficTipTuesday It’s that time of year again, Saskatchewan Time to #ShiftIntoWinter by breaking out the winter tires, bookmarking the Highway Hotline and ke...eping some extra layers of winter gear in the back of your vehicle. The weather can change on a dime and it’s best to be prepared! Before heading out on the road here are a few things to consider doing: make sure you have a full tank of gas and that your cell phone is fully charged, pack an emergency kit, make sure all your vehicle’s lights are fully operational, check the forecast and consult the Highway Hotline. Don’t take any chances out there this winter. Leave early, give yourself plenty of time and take it slow. ^km https://hotline.gov.sk.ca/

Meet Cst. Chatelain, who just graduated from the RCMP Academy! Born and raised in Laurentides on the north side of Montreal, Cst. Chatelain grew up in an area known for its beautiful forests and mountains. Growing up, she enjoyed hiking, skiing, snowboarding, camping and mountain biking. She dreamed of having an outdoor kind of job that offers a challenge and one where each day is different. She also wanted to work in the public sector, to help give back to the community so... she pursued a career with the RCMP. Human social science has always been of great interest to Cst. Chatelain. After high school, she studied Criminology and then applied to the RCMP Academy, where she learned a completely new level of teamwork with her troop. Every day involves teamwork, working together to move forward, which she feels helped them become stronger. Her troop also went home for a period of four months due to COVID-19, but returned in July to resume training. Her favourite part of training was PDU at the driving track. It was the skills training she was looking most forward to and an experience she will remember for a long time. Cst. Chatelain is an avid mountain biker and racer. She says that mountain biking is good for her mind, and has challenged her to grow. During her time in the Queen City, she joined the Regina Cycle Club and went on weekend bike rides on the prairies - quite different from the terrain to which she was accustomed! She is excited for her career with the RCMP because there are opportunities to work across Canada. She looks forward to discovering new places to mountain bike, experiencing cultures across the country, and building relationships in the communities she will police and call home. Best wishes Cst. Chatelain in your career with the RCMP!
