Saturday trail report: We have a little snow here in Niagara! Ground is frozen under snow allowing the snow conditions to persist for a bit. In the woods, just noticing. There’s great value in just noticing. We call it eco therapy. Some call it trail therapy. In Japan, it’s called forest bathing (shinrin yoku). Absorbing the sounds, smells and peacefulness the forest holds. Green Urban design can give the opportunity to everyone regardless of income to enjoy and destress. Effective training tool: REST Rest, especially sleep is the foundation to optimal performance. Coaches give target zones for training. Power and heart zones are important however; rest is crucial to recovery!!! Pay attention to your resting heart rate. It will tell you valuable health info. Like level of rest, stress, fatigue. What is your average resting heart rate? Smart watches can benefit by showing you by graphing it and also giving you an idea of sleep- light and ...deep sleep zones.
