The record number of sales seen in July continued this upward trend well into August with a ten percent increase in overall sales as compared to August 2018. Year to date average sale price numbers showed an 8.4% increase for residential properties and a 7.9% increase for condominiums. Although these trends are encouraging, the inventory supply continues to be an issue in Ottawa.

Though the summer months are typically slower in the real estate market, Ottawa's housing market in July was as hot as the weather. Not only were there the highest number of July sales in 15 years, but for the first time in 2019, the housing inventory numbers showed some improvement.
