As of 8:30 a.m. on March 17, 2020, the City of Greater Sudbury is suspending public programs and temporarily closing a number of public facilities to promote social distancing and limit the potential spread of COVID-19 in the community. This also applies to volunteers that utilize space and/or hold their meetings in City of Greater Sudbury facilities. We are expecting this to be in effect for the next three weeks, and will reevaluate as needed. This message is to clarify that... volunteers with your organization are not to access municipal facilities for the duration of this shut down. For more information, including a full list of impacted programs and facilities please visit https://www.greatersudbury.ca/live/public-health-resources/. We thank you for your cooperation during this unprecedented time. As more information becomes available from the Province or Public Health, and we will keep you up-to-date. See more

The Ridgecrest Playground Association located at 1431 Roy Street in partnership with the City of Greater Sudbury Leisure Services are proud to announce another addition to the park. Adult exercise equipment has been added near the play structure. The exercise equipment are designed for individuals with mobility challenges and for those without. In the spring the splash pad is turned on the May long weekend and turned off prior to Thanksgiving. Ridgecrest was the recipient... of the large shade structure that was once in the school yard of St. Andrew School donated by Dalron. Our fieldhouse is totally accessible and can be rented for children’s parties, showers and family events. The winter program is beginning December 21st and we are in need of adults with rink watering knowledge and volunteers for the canteen. Contact 705 566 9346. Some of our plans for the new year include planning celebrations and participating in New Sudbury Days the last weekend in August. For more information contact 705 524 9436. See more
