WELCOME BACK!! Life has been anything but normal this spring and we sincerely hope you and your family are in good health. We are very happy to inform you that we are now able to once again provide dental care for you and your family. While things have changed since March, one thing has remained the same; our commitment to your health and safety. What’s New: Due to following strict infection control standards we have changed some things in our office. The waiting room will... no longer be utilized as we have to control the flow of people in the office. You will see a glass screen in place at the front desk reception. All the operatories will have poly vinyl doors in place. You will see there will be signs throughout to help guide you as well as our staff. We regret that our washrooms will not be open for public use due to protocols we are following. We will be wearing more protective gear such as masks, face shields, gowns and even some colourful surgical caps. Your Appointment: Please wear a mask or face covering to your appointment, this is required for everyone. You will be asked screening questions when booking your appointment and you will be screened once again upon arrival for your appointment. You will be asked to call us from your car when you arrive and we will advise you when you can enter the office. Upon entry, your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to use our hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting. Only patients (and essential caregivers) are permitted inside no additional family members please. Safety Measures: We have enhanced our already rigorous cleaning protocols with additional disinfection. We have IQAir Hepa Health Plus Air Filters installed in each of our rooms as well the door enclosures described above. Before you enter the treatment room the room will have additional disinfection by the EnviroNize ULV Fogger which is a hospital grade disinfectant. Rest assured, all these protocols are designed to create the safest environment for you and our team. When properly equipped a dental office is really one of the safest places to be! Bookings: We will be calling all patients who had treatment cancelled or pending and you will be booked in based on urgency. Please reach out if you are in need and we will do our best to accommodate you and look after your needs. There may be some adjustments to regular treatments to avoid aerosols where possible. Hello! On behalf of all of us here at Riverside Dental Centre Trenton, I thought I would reach out and say hi and bring you all into the loop as far as what we know regarding the provinces slow reopening. Since our last email to you, we like most of you, have been diligently practicing all the social distancing and altered day to day hygiene practices that have been asked of us. For Riverside Dental that has also meant basically being closed to our patients, except for exten...uating circumstances that fall under emergency care. The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and the Provincial Ministry of Health have been observing the other provinces that were hit less hard than us and what their respective regulatory bodies have been proposing for the various health professions including dentistry. The Ontario Dental Association has also been in contact with these groups along with its membership to try and give the provinces dental profession the heads up as to what we may expect in the hopefully near future. As of now we still have heard no definitive date for reopening, but many feel it will likely be in the next few weeks, possibly the beginning of June. The opening will not be a full back to normal approach, but will likely consist of stages just as we are seeing now, as the province tries to get itself up running. As a team we are all participating in webinars to keep updated on what protocols maybe coming our way to keep you our valued patients safe as well as my wonderful staff. That is of utmost importance to me. In the meantime, If you have any dental concerns that we may help you with, continue to reach out to us by phone or email as many of you have. Dawn continues to go into the office to pick up phone messages a couple of times per week, and the emails are checked daily. We all have remained safe and healthy through this crisis and trust you all have also. Continue to stay safe and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces again soon. Hi Everyone. Hoping this finds you all safe and well. As we all know by now, the fight against Covid-19 is affecting us all. We will continue to keep you posted as we find out more information. Something to really think about: What is a normal serving size?? A recent study looked at whether large servings of food skew your sense of what is typical. Dutch researchers served 132 women either a small portion of lasagna (with about 290 calories) or a large portion (with 875 calories) for lunch. The next day, the participants were told to eat as much as they wanted from a family-sized lasagna (with 1,585 calories) for lunch. Those who had been served the smaller portion... of lasagna on the first day ate 620 calories’ worth of lasagna on the second day. Those who had been served the larger portion on the first day ate 765 calories’ worth. What to do: Don’t let huge restaurant servings taint your sense of what’s normal. Take home the excess.
