We are disappointed to announce that we have had to extend our travel suspension until July 31, 2020. With the numerous travel restrictions in place globally, airlines having limited flight availability, many of our operational partners having suspended their services, and other challenges, it has become impossible for us to start our operations in July. This was an incredibly difficult action to take as we would love to have our trains running as scheduled, and to provide a... world-class service for our guests. But the health and safety of our guests, and our team members are always our very highest priority. If you are impacted by the suspended departures in July, you will receive an email from our team advising you of your options. If you have any further questions or have not received an email, please reach out to our reservations team at [email protected] or by phone at the toll-free numbers listed at www.rockymountaineer.com/contact-us. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the global situation and communicate any updates as soon as we can about future departures. For the latest information, you can also visit https://www.rockymountaineer.com/covid19-keeping-you-updated We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy and we look forward to welcoming you onboard our train when the time is right. We sincerely thank everybody for their patience and understanding.

UPDATE: Given the growing impact of the pandemic and global travel restrictions, we have been forced to further delay the start of our 2020 travel season and suspend departures until July 1, 2020. We have reached out directly to all guests and partners with guests booked on suspended departures. As the situation evolves, we’ll continue to respond to the latest developments and keep you informed. Please visit our website for the latest information: https://www.rockymountainee...r.com/covid19-keeping-you-updated Our best wishes are with everyone impacted by this unprecedented situation. We hope to begin running our trains as soon as possible and look forward to being able to welcome guests onboard again. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenging times.
Please see the message below from our President and CEO, Steve Sammut: Dear valued guests and partners, By now I’m sure that you have heard the word unprecedented many times over the past week; however, the COVID-19 pandemic truly is just that an unprecedented situation. ... At Rocky Mountaineer, we understand that this is an incredibly challenging time for our guests and our partners. We understand this because it is an incredibly challenging time for our team as well. I can assure you that our team has been working tirelessly to react and adjust our response to rapidly changing government travel restrictions and other health measures and mandates. Last week, we took the incredibly difficult action of temporarily laying off a significant number of our team members and reducing working hours across the company. Our team members are the heart, soul and culture of Rocky Mountaineer, so this was not a decision we took lightly; quite frankly, it was heartbreaking. Please know that we are trying our hardest to respond to this situation in the fairest way possible under the circumstances, while also trying to ensure the company can survive this tumultuous period and continue to operate in the future. This is why we are offering travel credits for future travel for guests booked on suspended departures or requesting to cancel their trips. We need to survive in order to protect all those who support us. We need travellers to return to Western Canada in the future, when it is safe to do so.
