TREC Dental would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our entire TREC family of hardworking team members. They have risen above and beyond the multitude of challenges that this year has provided, and have implemented significant additional protocols for everyone's safety, on top of our industry's already very stringent safety standards. We continue to be able to care for our patients safely and comprehensively thanks to our teams' dedication to continuing to provide the best oral health care possible to our valued patients. Thank you for supporting each other throughout this unprecedented year, and all the best for a safe and happy holiday season.

Yes, we are here for you and remain open to serve your dental needs. In accordance with the latest guidelines and restrictions issued by the Government of Alberta, our dental clinic will remain open to provide all oral health care needs. We continue to employ all necessary additional safety precautions over and above our already stringent compliance with dental industry protocols, to ensure the safety of our patients and our team. This includes the requirement that all patien...ts wear a face mask to enter the clinic, which is also now mandated by the government's announcement. Our clinic remains open for you, please visit our website for our Holiday schedule. We remain grateful for the opportunity to assist you with your oral health care needs.

Diet and exercise play an important part in keeping us healthy. But did you know that a healthy mouth is also an important part of a healthy body? Poor oral health can affect your quality of life. Oral pain, missing teeth or oral infections can influence the way you speak, eat and socialize. As a result, these oral health problems can affect your physical, mental and social well-being. Oral disease, like any other disease, needs to be treated. A chronic infection, including ...one in the mouth, is a serious problem that should not be ignored. Yet bleeding or tender gums are often overlooked. As part of a healthy lifestyle and to help reduce the risk of oral disease, follow CDA's five steps to good oral health. https://bit.ly/1I7urHZ

#ThrowbackThursday shout out to the Dashmesh Culture Centre Gurdwara Sahib Calgary. We were thrilled to present a cheque for $5000 in June to the DCC, the big winner of our Kids Create to Donate contest (thanks Maya and Sajan)! DCC is doing so much good for Calgary and in particular to the underserved NE quadrant. They have Covid-pivoted from providing meals indoors to providing a much-needed food bank out of a trailer in their parking lot, along with a mobile food truck service. Kudos to the DCC for the many ways they support the community, including their blanket service and even emergency accommodations to those in need.

Did you know that your dental benefits expire every year? Many people are unaware that their dental benefits expire annually, and this usually occurs on December 31, 2020, unless your insurance provider uses a rolling calendar. Although your treatment is never determined based on benefits, it is prudent to keep your smile as healthy as possible while utilizing your available benefits. If you would like to discuss your oral health needs, give us a call - we’re always happy to help.

Now that we’ve gotten past baby’s first Halloween, when should your child first see a dentist? The Canadian Dental Association recommends the assessment of infants, by a dentist, within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age. The goal is to have your child visit the dentist before there is a problem with his or her teeth. In most cases, a dental exam every six months will let your child's dentist catch small problems early. Visit the following lin...k for an article from the Canadian Dental Association featuring 3 reasons to take your child for dental exams. https://bit.ly/31rLuaT

Once again, we are proud to support the Senior’s Secret Service and help bring cheer to isolated seniors. Demographic trends suggest that there’s a growing portion of seniors who do not have family or a support network. The Seniors Secret Service ensures that Calgary’s most vulnerable citizens are not forgotten. To learn more about this worthy cause, visit the https://bit.ly/3jKOMfw website.
