Our dear patients, With the reopening of dental clinics in Saskatchewan on May 4th, we wanted to update you on what to expect in the upcoming weeks, as it isn't exactly business as usual. Due to the current limited access to personal protective wear, aerosol producing procedures are restricted to emergencies only. Some of the non-urgent procedures we are able to offer to patients include check ups, nightguard impressions, denture work and routine extractions.... We are also able to provide cleanings for patients that are interested, but at this time we are not able to offer polish or stain removal due the aerosols produced. Because we are currently only able to provide manual cleanings, your appointment may take longer and require extra units of scaling. What you can expect at your appointment is staggered arrival times with patients waiting in the vehicles to be called in for their appointment, outside shoes to be removed and inside slippers provided, temperature taken and screening questionnaire to be filled out prior to being seated. The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. In the future we will slowly be able to broaden our scope of practice, but will need to wait for research to be developed and reassure us that our routine aerosol procedures can be provided safely and effectively to all of our patients.
