************Announcement*************** At Schroeder Massage Therapy your health and safety is important to us. Our standard sanitization practices for each massage include wiping down tables, face rests and oil bottles, fresh linens and of course hand washing before and after appointments. ... However, In light of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we are doing everything necessary to keep our clients safe, which includes increasing our sanitizing practices such as disinfecting door handles, light switches, pens and desktops and all common areas and surfaces with hospital grade products and setting up extra hand sanitizer stations We work with many people of various life stages, such as pregnancy, infancy, postpartum, immune-compromised states and elderly. Since Susanne and many of our patients are immune-compromised, please take to heart the following: If you have traveled outside of Canada recently, please refrain from coming in for a treatment for a minimum of 2 weeks once you are back. If you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, please call and cancel. We will be waiving our cancellation fees for the time being. If you believe you have the COVID-19 virus, please stay home. Please remember to wash your hands often for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water. Avoid touching your face throughout the day. We ask that if you are able to keep your appointment that you sanitize your hands before and after your massage. Above all else, please stay safe and aware. The best thing we can do at this time is to not panic and help each other out. There are many people within our communities who are at high risk. Let’s all do our part to keep this community strong and healthy! Sincerely, Laina and Susanne

Single Leg Hip Hinge (Bodyweight) Single Leg Hip-Hinge, known also as Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift. You must identify and know the angle of hip flexion at which... the hamstrings pull and create a backward rotation of the pelvis., and more. The hip hinge is one of the fundamental movements of a lot of exercises. It’s a staple of deadlifts, squats, olympic lifting, and more. The target muscle is the gluteus maximus (colored red). The hamstring (dark-pink) assists in hip extension. In this exercise the spinal erectors stabilize the spine in static contraction. Movement is only in the hip joint and not in the spine!!! It is important to keep the back straight throughout the movement. Common mistake: Spinal flexion without maintaining the spinal curves in a neutral position. The ability to keep our back straight depends on the hamstrings. As soon as backward rotation of the pelvis occurs, the lumbar spine loses its lordosis. And at this point, we are exposed to very high loads on the vertebrae. As soon as backward rotation of the pelvis occurs, the lumbar spine loses its lordosis. And at this point we are exposed to very high loads on the vertebrae. Knee flexion releases the hamstrings somewhat and allows us to flex the trunk more. Thanks for watching!
