The NHL Alumni Association is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of long-time NHL defenseman, Jim Neilson. Jim played more than 1000 games with the New Yo...rk Rangers, California Seals, Cleveland Barons, and 1 final season with the WHA’s Edmonton Oilers. He finished his 17-season NHL career tallying 69 goals, 299 assists and an All-Star appearance. Jim was an instrumental force in paving the way for professional aboriginal athletes in the sport of hockey and athletics in general.
