Sheila's Thriving Life 15.05.2022

I had cookies and coffee for breakfast because it was my birthday... but also because I'm an adult and who is going to stop me? Mwahahaha Zero regrets, but I figured I'd give my body a bit more fuel for lunch. Enter this delectable meal that doesn't just taste good but is wildly good for me. * I used: (cooked) jasmine rice, edamame, broccoli, (raw) hemp hearts, chia seed, pumkin seed, sunflower seed, (ground) flax seed, (chopped) green onion, and organic sauerkraut (th...ough I bet kim chi would be great with this also). C'est bon! * * * * * * * #organiceating #healthyeating #tastyveganfood #vegan #organic #glutenfree #yummy #whatsfordinner #veganrecipes #glutenfreerecipes #sometimesieatcookiesforbreakfast #itsallaboutbalance See more

Ushering in the spring vibes while everything outside my window is grey. Here's to warm breezes without frost nipping at their edges. Here's to longer days spent lying in the grass. Here's to new beginnings and more time spent doing things that light me up. * * * *... * * * #upcycledart #garbageart #makeartbecauseitmakesyouhappy #awakening #spring See more

Spent the afternoon painting boxes with the littles. Sometimes following their lead, even when I had completely different plans, is exactly what is needed. Paiting through 8 separate pieces with zero pressure and nothing but using up paint as my end goal allowed such a release of spontaneous creativity. I'm so very grateful for all they teach me. * * * *... * * * #motherhood #creativity #upcycledart #acrylicpaint #paintingwithkids #artforhealing #abstractart #letthembelittle #creativekids #paintitout #mentalhealthmatters #healingjourney See more

Let's talk about LOVE * There's a big emphasis on romance this time of year. Romantic relationships can be deeply fulfilling but it's important not to forget all the other forms that LOVE comes in. * My children often remind me that there isn't a need for perfection with LOVE, only honesty and a willingness to keep trying. They show me this when they bicker over little things yet band together during moments of stress in the most heartwarming ways. ... * I'm also often reminded by my family that being open to love is extremely powerful. They show me this when they consider me, and help me. I honor it by receiving their gestures without bias or judgement and from a place of worthiness. Which leads me to the last type of LOVE that is arguably the most important for without it you can't experience the true depth of LOVE in any other regard. * Self love often feels like a catch phrase we use without fully understanding its meaning. To truly love and accept yourself requires a deep and expansive view of self that lacks judgement and bias. It requires us to step away from all the stories you've bought about who you are and what that means and step into a place of acceptance. To love oneself means to care for to honor and to treat self with the kindness we often afford everyone else. * How are you showing up for yourself this valentines day? * * * * * * * #valentinesday #valentine #gnome #selflove #love #selfcare #bekindtoyourself See more
