Well with new, not so cheap to feed and vet critters coming in we need to quickly raise some funds. As winter is only beginning and likelihood of more coming in. Who is up for another quick online auction first week of December?

This is not just a BC issue but here too in our province of Saskatchewan. All lives matter, including bears, coyotes, wolves and wild cats and more. We have to quit setting them up to come into our yards and community’s because garbage is not contained and ready food sources spread around outdoors. This attracts wildlife. They shouldn’t have to die for choosing to go live somewhere easy and where there is a lot of food to find. We all need to do better and be good stewards.

I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed in certain humans. If you are going to have a gun, BB gun, pellet or bigger. Use it responsibly and report anyone who is not. You think a bb or pellet gun doesn’t do harm? Well it does to wildlife. You may not kill them instantly but you WILL harm them and most often sentence them to a slow and painful death. A great horned owl came in last night thanks to Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Saskatchewan rescue and transport vo...lunteers who did their share of driving on both ends to get him. This guy was shot and has two pellets inside him. The one that hit his wing broke a bone and the neck one alone could have killed him if it was a breathe deeper. Well he survived long enough to most likely been hit by a car a few days later. Amazingly his will to live has gotten him this far. Will he fly again? Time will tell. If you are able to help sponsor this guy please send a message. Thank you Twin Valley Veterinary Health Services Ltd. for once again fitting us in last minute to help See more

Working on a little (not so little) miracle for this Western Grebe, crossing fingers and toes to get the right outcome. I will share the details in the next couple days. For now he is eating many minnows, spending his days swimming and enjoying the foot spa method two times a day. Grebes don’t do well in long term rehab captivity and are prone to keel and foot lesions.
