Hey all, just an update on Amber. Amber remains in Calgary hospital and treatment continues. She will be in the hospital for longer than first thought, last we heard she could be there for up to 3 months. Mike is still at home and unable to visit her but is taking care of the kids and house. Amber has had some very hard days and sleepless nights filled with transfusions, chemo, and such. It is hard on her, her family and all her friends. We ask if you can help out financially to please do so. Ambers sister Tisha is collecting funds to help with the bills. Even 20 bucks can make a difference for a better Christmas with out worry of bills for Amber, Mike and kids. If you would like to donate please send to [email protected] Amber does check Facebook when able, so please leave comments of encouragement for her.

Hi all, Jennifer and Sheldon here. We are just doing up a quick post for one of our former employees. As many of you will remember we had Amber working with us and helping us out for a few months. Amber has been a friend of the family for many years. This week Amber had some bad news, she was diagnosed with 2 illnesses at the same time. Amber was first diagnosed with being Diabetic, and then diagnosed with Leukemia ( Acute Myeloid Leukemia... AML). Amber was transferred from ...Medicine Hat to Calgary and will be there for a month getting chemotherapy. Ambers husband Mike is not allowed to visit her during this time due to Covid restrictions and will be at home taking care of the family. Amber is a fighter and a very strong woman. With Amber being in Calgary and Mike doing what he can, we want to help out to ease some of the financial burden this will have on them. Amber has been told she will be losing her hair, to which Sheldon jumped up and stated bald is beautiful. He stated he would shave his head in support but he has no hair on his head to shave. After some quick witted remarks between mutual friends of Ambers, and Sheldon stating he only has back hair, it was said that he could wax his back hair in support. So Sheldon being not one to back down from a challenge went one step further and stated he will get his back waxed if 5000.00 dollars was raised for Amber and Mike. This challenge was accepted and is now on. Ambers sister Tisha has stepped up and will take care of the money collected. If you want to donate please send to [email protected]. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A GOFUND ME THAT IS A FRAUD, PLEASE DO NOT SEND TO THE GOFUND ME. Please share this post, lets help ease the financial part of this fight for Amber and Mike.

LAST ALARM Retired Captain Rick Boksteyn With heavy hearts we send our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of our fallen brother. ... Rick passed away from an occupational cancer that was determined to be contracted on the job. Captain Boksteyn proudly served the people of Medicine Hat for 39 years, and was beloved and greatly respected by his peers. The number of people positively affected by Rick through his decades of service and volunteering with football and rugby is remarkable. Rest easy brother. You will be missed, and never forgotten.

SAVE HALO!!!!!!!!. Do the HALO challenge for all who can. We ask you to donate and challenge someone to do the same. These life saving helicopters, pilots, medical staff are what we need in Southern Alberta! Take the challenge and donate what you can! If everyone in Medicine Hat donated $1.00 thats $65,000!!!! can you imagine if we all donated $10? That would be almost enough to cover Half of what is needed to keep them in the air and that's just in our little city. We need to stand together southern Alberta! The email address to e-transfer donations to is [email protected] #HaloChallenge #savelocal
