Good luck to Puffins Sean McCarthy & Steve Tilley as they head across the country to Vancouver this weekend to play for the Eastern Canada representative team at the inaugural Canadian Australian Rules Football Championships. A fantastic achievement by the boys, who have been playing for less than 1 year. Do the puffins proud over there!

St John's delivered perfect weather for training tonight! Great session lads! We'll be at it again next Thursday for anyone who missed out. Hopefully have our first practice match Sunday 4th June!

Training is on 7 - 8pm Thursday at Bowring Park. It's at the soccer pitch up the back. Access via McNab's Lane, walk down gravel road and take the first gravel rd on the right. Good news - the coloured bibs have been washed (potentially first time ever).... 2 months until our Halifax trip! See you there!

Guys and girls, just a reminder about the run for Quinn around Quidi Vidi lake this morning. It would be great to see some puffins and puffinettes down there to shiw some local support. See you at 9am at the boathouse

Great effort by the boys to get out for training tonight in 3C and rain. Skills are coming along well! Special shout out to new recruit Tavish, showcasing some great skills on his first night out! Honourable mention to Stu who was reportedly at home on the couch!

First outside training session is going to be this Thursday at bowring park! 7pm - 8pm at the soccer pitch up the very back. If you park in McNab's Lane, walk up the gravel road at the end of McNab's Lane. Take the first right up another gravel road and the soccer pitch is on your left. We'll keep it short and sharp if the weather's average. See you there!

The inaugural "Puffins on Ice" hockey match was a big success over the weekend. The Canadian & US hockey players really showed the boys how it's done! Plenty of sore bodies the next day. Some good preseason training!

Guys and girls, next saturday morning there is a run/walk for Quinn around Quidi Vidi lake. Jason and I thought it would be great to get the Puffins and our supporters down there to have a run and show our support. Quinn is the little girl that past away in the house fire last week and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this tough time. We'll be back training in what's now being called the "sweat box" tomorrow night! We'll start at 7:30pm, but seems like there isn't anyone booked before us so come down around 7:00pm if you want to get some extra skill work in. Looking forward to another good run around. It's a chance to work off a few beers before Friday night's first social function!

Great to see 20+ blokes out tonight for the first training for the year! Skills were looking sharp especially from the new guys. Thanks to the Gaelic boys for having us. We'll be at it again next Thursday night, same time, same (small) place. Hope to see you there!

St John's Puffins in action in this weekend's Eastern Canadian Australian Rules Football Championships. Great weekend lads!

The biggest Puffin in the team Matt Parton (Profile pic) will be sorely missed and will leave a massive whole in the team for our upcoming challenges. We hope that he is able to swing a trip from H Town to Montreal next month but is in serious doubt with his first child due near the championships. We will miss you buddy on and off the field. I'm sure Michael Knous isn't too upset about your absence from training as he coped quite a few cover tackle beatings! Also due to the big man leaving our mascot American Mastiff "Puffin" will also depart. It'll be great to have a kick around with Matt and Puffin tomorrow at Swilers Rugby grounds from 11:45am onwards. Come out and watch some entertaining footy and a couple of cold ones to follow.

A good showing at training this afternoon despite the bad weather. 11 degrees, Fog and drizzle isn't great for summer. A big welcome to Ian who picked aussie rules skills up very well in the wet! Also thanks to Halifax Docker Harry for coming out for a kick. Troy met him briefly in Rocket today and said he was keen. Turns out he wasn't that keen because of the weather but it was good to see him brave the newfoundland elements. Shelby got a run in this pic also. So quick! Well done to all the Puffins and Puffinette's that ran or walked in yesterdays Tely 10. Most notable runner was Michael Knous who ran the 10 mile in just over 63 minutes, well done mate! Also it was great to see all the lads in the Puffin Jumpers! Well done to the following Puffins on a good race- Alex, Troy, Ryan, Jason and Richard. Puffinette's who ran great were- Sally, Katie, Brandy, Tiffany, Sarah and Lisa. I hope I'm not missing anybody! Well done guys and girls....
