This is the place where I spent countless hours learning Japanese and Chinese calligraphy. I also learned the deeper more complex aspects of Mugai-ryu Iai Hyodo, as well as the link that exists between the brush and the sword. I would often bring the offspring here with me when I studied and trained with one of the Soke of the Mugai-ryu school, Nakatani Soke. Mrs. Nakatani is an accomplished internationally renowned artist, and also prepares the best traditional dishes that I have ever had the pleasure of eating during my near 20 years in Japan.
