Here are some of the Cricut cards that I highlighted last week, only these have been embellished...I added google eyes, gems, pearls, glitter pen and words if it needed them or had room for them! Next week, I am doing a GIVEAWAY for some embellished Cricut butterfly cards, so stayed tuned!

Happy New Year! I was lucky enough to get a new Cricut machine from Santa. This one is smaller and portable and is aimed at cardmakers, so it’s been on my list since it came out. Here are some quick cards I made with it. Each took me less than 5 mins. I will embellish them with gems, sequins, etc and add sentiments where needed before I send them..... These are all made with templates found in the Cricut Design software, so no design experience needed! I will design some of my own at some point but enjoying these premade ones so much! These all use insert cards which contrast with the card base...you can buy them or make your own...I love using the holographic paper!

I recently uncovered more goodies that I had bought before we moved. This set is a Turnabout stencil set, and works exactly like the stamp one, except it comes with two stencils to work with! Rotate until each side is filled in with a different colour of ink. I thought this set was even easier to use than the stamp one! Here are pics of the package, the two samples I made with the two stencils and then a finished birthday card, that I kept simple due to the busy background! Last week I saw a video using this gel plate and remembered that I had purchased this a few years ago and had only used it a handful of times. I pulled it out and played with it using distress oxide ink pads by themselves and then with stencils. Lots of messy fun to get some cool, unique backgrounds. I kept the cards simple to highlight the backgrounds.

I made a couple of quick cards with my turnabout stamped backgrounds. Because they were fairly busy backgrounds, I kept the cards fairly simple. I also have another turnabout stamp set that makes a full dahlia flower after turning it 4 times. I also love all the sentiments with these sets too! I kept these simple by adding just a large gem in the middle and using a sentiment stamped in black from the same stamp set. TIP: I usually buy clear gems and use alcohol markers in the colour I need to customize for each project.
