Ground vs. Building One of the most basic, but crucial questions to ask is whether to install a solar array on a building, or on the ground. Installing on the roof of an existing building is often more economical, while ground mounting is more flexible. Ground structures allow you the freedom to build the array wherever you wish, and set the angle of the solar modules where you need them.... When you install on the roof of an existing building, it limits your options, as you're left with choosing from what is available. Products like bi-facial modules which produce solar power from the irradiance on the back side of the modules, are highly recommended for a ground mounted array, as it works very well with a particular type of racking used on a ground mount, but they don’t work as well or wouldn’t be used at all on a roof. With many questions to be answered before making the move toward solar powered energy, we're here to help!

The desire for companies to make the effort in becoming more environmentally friendly, is something that has only continued to grow over the years. Take a look at this huge solar project we completed for Flexahopper Plastics Ltd. here in Lethbridge, as this was the main reason behind their decision to go ahead with the rooftop solar installation on their factory! 508-330 watt modules, generating just over 200 million watt hours a year - which is enough to POWER OVER 100 HOMES...! Flexahopper Plastics - a rotational molding plastics company that has been a mainstay in our city for over 50 years, producing rotational molds for several markets, including agriculture, the food industry, oil and gas drilling, tanks, food processing and recreational vehicles. This particular project has an estimated payoff within 7.5 - 9 years, based on today's electric rates. Which made investing in solar an easy decision for the company!
