We see footcare as more valued now. Before, many doctors referred people with foot problems to surgeons, who were motivated to amputate. Now, we have nurse podiatrists who can care for feet and help people prevent and heal ulcers, so amputations aren’t necessary, http://www.worlddiabetesfoundation.org//georgia-diabetes-f

"Nearly half of diabetics will experience a condition of the foot, whether it’s peripheral neuropathy or narrowing of blood vessels, which limits blood flow." http://www.belmarrahealth.com/diabetes-gangrene-and-diabet/

"The Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) and the Canadian Association of Wound Care (CAWC) estimate that about 85% of the 2,000 foot amputations performed annually at a cost of terrible suffering for patients and a $70,000-per-amputation bill to the health-care system would be unnecessary with proper preventative care." http://www.torontosun.com//preventative-foot-care-sought-f

We are a team of Registered Nurses providing mobile foot care in Markham, Stouffville, and surrounding areas. Our services are provided in the comfort of your home, hospital, nursing home or other care facility. Its all about your care and comfort! We provide ongoing assessment of your feet and overall well-being, including a complete health assessment to identify any underlying health issues. Often the condition of our feet may be symptomatic of larger health issues. For ex...ample, if you have heart problems, this could lead to poor circulation in the feet. Diabetes can also cause decreased sensation in the feet which lead to undetected infections. If left untreated, these issues become much more complicated and affect your overall health negatively. Here are some of the services we provide: - For individuals with vision and mobility challenges, diabetes, heart issues, and arthritis, we provide foot care to help relieve some of the discomforts and to prevent some of the more severe complications related to these conditions. As Registered Nurses, we also continuously engage in health teaching. - Foot care during pregnancy and post-partum bed rest. Pregnancy is difficult! Lets make it easier on your feet. - Help maintain the healthy appearance of your nails and feet, including treatment of corns and calluses, ingrown nails, fungal nails, and plantar warts. - Measurements for compression therapy. - Referrals to appropriate health professionals, as required according to your health assessment. Currently, the Ministry of Health requires a high-level disinfectant of foot care tools. High-level disinfectants kills bacteria but not bacterial spores. For our services, we go beyond this requirement. All our tools are first disinfected, sealed and sterilized under high heat using the same method as sterilization for surgical and dental tools. The tools remain sterile and sealed until opened in front of you for your peace of mind. Please like our Facebook page if you or a loved one could benefit from our foot care services! Nursing foot care is widely covered under most extended health insurance plans and by the Department of Veterans Affairs. This service is also tax deductible.
