When I look out the window and see a black & white picture, it makes me miss colour SO MUCH! Looking forward to warm days and bright flowers again : Amanda Longe Photography

Here we are at the end of 2020 and I’m still not 100% sure if I know how I feel about it yet, lol. It was definitely a year for a lot of firsts, both personally and for our businesses. I learned that throughout everything that’s happened this year, as long as you have your family & friends close by, you can make it though anything. I ended up taking on less, thanks to Covid, and still somehow actually ended up working more, thanks to Covid. I decided to make this the year... that I stepped back, to focus not only on my family and our sanity, but also to get back to taking on those weddings that I really missed doing - the ones with great creative challenges and the ones that were just about people being in love, despite some shitty circumstances. I think it was my best year yet, in regards to my creativity, and I’m so happy for that - I needed the break, I was burning out hard. I had a chance to be a part of a few special (=secret) ceremonies; to make weddings flowers for dogs, cats AND horses; to make flowers for a few fabulous longtime friends and to make some new friends in the process; I got to get together with my girls & some fabulous newlyweds for the perfect styled wedding shoot; I learned (the hard way) that I still tend to take on too much at once and I need to work slowing down and downsizing my plans (lol) and I learned how to slow down, spend some time with my mom and girls creating & nourishing my own beautiful flower garden - and I even had the chance to use some of my blooms in my weddings this year... All in all, despite the extra stress, 2020 wasn’t so terrible after all. I am very grateful for the extra time we spent with our children being at home that we normally wouldn’t have had the chance ... We made it, no one died and we all still like eachother so I’ll take that as a win, lol Here’s to a (hopefully much) better 2021. Cheers

Ok, after taking a very much needed rest this weekend to see my children and husband & spend time with them and get my house cleaned, I will be back at the wreaths tomorrow morning to keep going tomorrow. I have been contacting people as I’ve been finishing their orders so if I haven’t messaged you yet, you are still on my list as I will get to you ASAP. I am over half way done and I am hoping to finish up before the end of the week. Thank you again for your patience.

I have about 10 ladies that initially contacted me about wanting a wreath but I haven’t heard from again, no etransfer sent, etc ... If you are one of these ladies, can you please confirm with me one way or the other if you want to go ahead with your wreath. They are extremely time consuming and I don’t want to make a bunch that aren’t needed. For everyone else, these are taking me a bit longer to make than I initially thought so thank you in advance for your patience. I am... getting them done as quickly as I can and I’ll be in touch for delivery arrangements .... Thank you!

Every year, I look forward to decorating Poplar + Birch for the holiday season. I’ve done this for Ashley every year that they’ve been open and I love it because it puts me in the Christmas spirit plus it gives me the kick in the butt that I need to get my own house ready for the holidays. This year was my favourite so far - we switched things up for a more natural/organic feel .... Who doesn’t love pampas grass & bunny tails? And the smell in there? AH-mazing!
