As a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Resource Consultant working with families and children, I am concerned at the fees of child care. I am upset at the... fact that there are Registered Early Childhood Educators working in a child care centre and not able to afford to to have their own child in the same centre because the fees are so high. There has to be a way to set this right, everyone should have the right to a living wage, to make sure their children and families are cared for. This is one of the reasons great RECE's leave the field of child care. As more and more great RECE's leave the field to earn a living wage job, centres will also suffer and if centres suffer our children will also. It appears that this is a vicious cycle which will continue to break down. At the end of the day our children will end up paying the ultimate cost. How do we stop this from happening? to be honest, I am not to sure where to begin, but I do believe that it will take more than one entity to set things rights. See more
