WE ARE OPENING JUNE 19th, 2020! The Southview Family is delighted to share the news that now we can officially open! New for 2020:... We are limiting the number of people allowed in the office at a time - only 4 people maximum. When you arrive, we ask only one person comes into the office and checks in. The pool and playground will be closed until further notice this is a provincial order, applied across Ontario. The beach will be open, and guests are asked to social distance from other people not in their immediate family. We are encouraging all guests that are renting boats or want to take out any water equipment to bring their own life jackets or rental life jackets will be available that have been disinfected between uses. Laundry facilities will be open, social distancing applies. Fish cleaning houses will be open, social distancing applies. During your stay: Increasing our cleaning procedures and increasing the frequency of disinfecting all common areas. All cottages will be sanitized with the best virus-killing products/cleaners focusing on high-touched surfaces (door handles, light switches, remotes, and all kitchen appliances/furnishings/Kitchenware) All Water and sport equipment will be disinfected between uses. All Rental Boats will also be disinfected between uses. Keeping our staff up to date on newest procedures and implementing a communication and training strategy with our staff to ensure that everyone is practicing preventive behavior. After you make a reservation: Deposit Policy: A deposit of $600.00 per week and $300.00 per weekend/midweek is required to reserve cottages. Cancellation Policy: 1. A full refund up to one week prior to arrival, less a 10% charge to cover our costs; within a week of arrival deposits will be refunded less a 50% cancellation fee. 2. OR push your reservation till later in 2020 or 2021. We will honor your full deposit and give you a discount of $100.00 off your weekly cottage rental and $50.00 off your weekend/midweek stay should have to push your booking till later in the year or till 2021. Bring it on! We’re getting everything ready for opening day 2020, hopefully that will be soon.

Effective Saturday May 16th - Seasonal trailer owners are now able to access their trailers. We are unable to rent cottages at this time and all communal facilities, including our Comfort Station and pool will remain closed. We are eagerly awaiting permission from the Province to open our entire resort to guests. When travel is safe again we look forward to welcoming you here at Southview to make memorable vacations. In the meantime, we hope you are making lasting memories with your family at home. Stay Safe everyone!

To our friends, family, and guests, We sincerely hope that you all are staying well and staying home to do your part in keeping all our communities safe during these extraordinary times. When it is safe to travel and get out again, Southview will be here waiting to welcome you and your family to our ‘little piece of heaven’ here on Rice Lake as soon as possible. The Southview Family is safe and sound and staying optimistic that travel restrictions will be lifted soon.... We have been closely monitoring all updates from the Health Unit to put the health, safety and well-being of our customers, staff and the community in which we operate our number one priority. The following is what Southview Cottages is working on right now to keep you and your family safe during you vacation with us on Rice Lake. Prior to your arrival: We are currently developing an online booking/payment; to encourage all customers to pay the remainder of their bills over the phone or online within 24 hours prior to arrival. This will allow customers peace of mind if they’d like the ability to limit all unnecessary interactions with staff. When you arrive our welcome booklet and cottage keys will be waiting inside your unlocked cottage. If you have any questions or concerns upon arrival, we are always on the property and are just a phone call away. Keeping our staff up to date on newest procedures and implementing a communication and training strategy with our staff to ensure that everyone is practicing preventive behavior. Communicating with our guests any changes that develop if new requirements become necessary. During your stay: Increasing our cleaning procedures and increasing the frequency of disinfecting all common areas. All cottages will be sanitized with the best virus-killing products/cleaners focusing on high-touched surfaces (door handles, light switches, remotes, and all kitchen appliances/furnishings/Kitchenware) After you make a reservation: Southview Cottages has adapted our Cancellation Policy over the last few weeks to the evolving nature of this pandemic. We have updated our policy to provide our customers with the most flexibility we can offer during these challenging times. Due to the possibility that current travel restrictions may be extended into the summer; we plan on using the following cancellation policy for all 2020 deposits: 1. A full refund up to one week prior to arrival, less a 10% charge to cover our costs. 2. We would be incredibly grateful if you would consider pushing your booking to a later date in 2020 or 2021. We will honor your full deposit and give you a discount of $100.00 off your weekly cottage rental and $50.00 off your weekend/midweek stay should have to push your booking till later in the year or till 2021.
