A friend once told me that reading the Bible is like looking in the mirror; whether it be good or bad you can always see yourself. Someone whose story I deeply resonate with is Sarah as she waited on God’s promise, Isaac. At times we’re quick to speak of her shortcomings as readers, but I understand why and how she was able to think that Ishmael was a solution and not a symptom of her lack of faith. Waiting is easier... when we know when it will end, yet God has a funny way of hiding what we deem as necessary information (I mean the 5Ws+How would be great ), but there is one guarantee in all of this: waiting is not forever. Waiting well though not easy is the key to avoiding many of the what if’s that how haste often comes with. I pray that as we patiently wait, our desire to see the promise will not outweigh our trust in God’s perfect timing. 2021’s first blogpost is coming out on Friday!! Here, I’ll be talking more about Sarah, waiting and the temptation of Ishmael. Also, I’ve been LOVING your responses to the questions in the stories. Keep them coming! See more

Heavenly Father, when I’m tempted to forget, remind me what I am waiting for. When I’m tempted to give up, remind me why I am waiting. When my strength fades, carry me through. Happy Monday friends! It’s blogpost week! On Friday, we’re posting our first blog of 2021, focusing on what we’ve been looking at: Waiting. Comment, DM, or reply to the story and let us know what are some of the things you’d like to talk about when it comes to waiting on God?

I think one of the hardest things that happens in our waiting seasons is seeing how everyone else and their grandmothers are progressing at such a faster rate than you. Waiting gets harder when we compare our stories to those around us. It’s not easyespecially when it feels like everyone needs to be sharing their highs and lows on social media. But comparing your stories and season to those around you doesn’t change the situation, it just diso...rients you. Dear friend, don’t lose focus, but instead choose to embrace your story just as it is. The highs and lows are what make our stories that much better. When you’re tempted to compare your season with someone else’s, remember you’re not a duplicate; you’re an original masterpiece. See more

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 ESV

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14 ESV This month we’re focusing on waiting! It’s fitting that it’s the first month of the year and many of us have words of the year and resolutions were trusting God for. ... How do you sober your mind in your waiting season? For me, I try to remember God’s past faithfulness (I journal)in my life knowing that if it happened then, He can do it again. I would love to hear your methods, comment them below!
