On December 7, 2018, our partners Michael Shirreff and Errin Poyner will be co-chairing the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia’s Annual Medical Legal Conference, to be held at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver. The theme of the conference is Past, Present and Future Care: Medical Best Practices and Legal Best Outcomes and will feature a diverse array of speakers from both the legal and medical communities who will be presenting papers on topics related ...to post-accident medical care and the legal issues that arise therefrom. His paper, titled Bill 20 2018: The Insurance (Vehicle) Act: Legal and Medical Implications and Opportunities, addresses the recent changes to the Insurance (Vehicle) Act and Regulations which limit non-pecuniary damages for minor injuries to $5,500.00, and also increase the availability of post-accident therapeutic services to claimants.
