Trip Report Whitefish Lake Jan. 30th: 8 kites out both LEI and foil - a record for this winter . Great steady SE? winds with the occasional hole or gust. Lake surface snow covered and w varied depth. Lots of mysterious bumps and grooves from extensive snowmachine activity during earlier slush days but still suitable for both skis and snowboards. Good session.

Whitefish lake (non-event): Saturday, January 30th (tomorrow) meeting between 12:00-1 pm at public boat launch. All welcome but no lessons provided. Anyone kiting/participating MUST be the length of their kite lines apart in keeping with all Provincial Covid restrictions. THIS IS NOT A SOCIAL.

What a difference a week makes. There is still hope for riding at Mission this winter. Just needs some snow...

Trip report from KORONA FEST: we had 2 kiters (me and my son) out on a beautiful day! Zero wind at boat launch parking lot. Walked out onto lake and wind was WMW 24 gusting to 40 km!!! We pumped up a 6 m kite and quickly determined that this was not going to be a safe learning environment.....wind would go from zero (absolutely no wind) to 40 km gust less than a second!!!! We packed up and sat in the sun in the parking lot. . But the great news is that with the low numbers of participants there is expected to be zero transmissions. .
