This is a painting that I did as a house-warming gift for my son Satish and Daughter-in-love Rubini in Malaysia. Today, I needed to look at it again and remind myself of what I was trying to convey through the painting. The Wave does not know that it is part of the mighty ocean. The Ocean does not care that the wave has run off to do its own thing. Both determined to stay in its own power. When life gets us down, rise like the wave- stay resolute and refuse to be restrained by circumstances. We are not here to be cajoled into powerlessness, but to leave our mark in a universe of infinite possibilities. A reminder to myself and maybe you too!
Could anything be more perfect than this? Bought a box of strawberries from the stores and couldn't get over how beautiful and perfectly, perfect the fruit was- the rich colour, the shape, the perfectly spaced dimples. Made me want to keep it a day longer on the counter to brighten up the kitchen space but couldn't resist the temptation to bite into this succulent marvel of nature! If Source energy can create a mere fruit so indescribably beautiful, what about us humans who are apparently higher in the hierarchy. There is always Perfection in Creation. Why can't we see that when we look at ourselves in the mirror?
Be bold enough to use your voice, Brave enough to listen to your heart, And strong enough to live the life you have always imagined powerful words I came across some years ago- source unknown. But I have taken these words to my heart and made them part of my daily practice in recent times. One great thing that has come out of this practice has been my reliance on my intuition and willingness to open the doors to the unknown. I am finding it more and more easy to ground my dreams not only brewing them in my mind but taking actions that are leading me in some direction. Just Because and Status Quo are statements I am choosing to eliminate from my vocab!
It's a "missing my grandbabies" kind of day! Received a recent posed shot of my two munchkins and it was enough to send me reeling into a " I wanna be next to them" space. Growing so fast! Time is a good friend who loves to fly by fast, sometimes so fast that you don't realise that the images that you hold dear in your heart have changed quite rapidly. It's then when you want life to stay still for a little bit longer. And yet, life like time is always moving forward. Both Life and Time needs to held close to your heart and valued for what it is- Precious - for it never comes back to you in the same way again. My precious grandbabies Rishaan and Rhia, keep growing beautifully darlings but know that Aatha (grandma) will do what it takes to keep pace with you!
When it's 8C and raining cats and dog, and feels like nightfall at 4pm, there's only one way to drum up excitement! Making Bhajia for tea! Bhajia by any other name taste as good- Pakora, Fritters...oh, the spicy fried stuff (disclaimer: to be eaten infrequently, although not an easy task if you have a weak spot for fried food like me). 20 minutes max and it was ready to be downed with a hot cup of chai! Now, that's my kind of lazy day! How has your's been?
