Generator Panel Installation

A number have people have inquired about the GenerLink product for portable generator installation. At present NB Power allows for the installation on a residential power bill. NSPI has no such arrangement and there is no plan to make this so. If you are planning to have one of these GenerLink’s installed, I would advise doing your homework, mainly on GenerLink failure rates and product replacement warrant time. Failure of a service based power back up can lead to total pow...er failure, utility and generator with no hope of restoring for days or weeks (depending on location and climate). I do not and will not install them and I would not install one on my house. I could not in good conscious charge for install, uninstall, reinstall fees including NSIP permits, disconnection, reconnection and reinspection fees. Also rumour has in NB Power maybe pulling the plug on the GenerLink program due to the failure rates since integration. Time will tell how this product will turn out for the customer. See more
