Please read and know what is expected of all members of TAP Canada: Higher Level Expectations and Consequences: The Provincial Classic and Masters are considered higher level tournaments. The format for these tournaments is three rounds of round robin, with a certain number of teams moving onto single elimination. ... Expectations: 1. Sportsmanship and Conduct was, is and always will be the TOP PRIORITY. We remind the TAP Players, your conduct at these tournaments is not only reflective of yourself, but of your team and TAP Canada. 2. If your team has qualified for a higher level tournament and you cannot field a team you MUST notify your operator at least a week in advance in order for the spot to be dropped down to the team that would have come second in the qualifying tournament. Failure to do so can affect the outcome of the higher level tournament negatively. It is also affects all the players in your local area, as you have essentially wasted their funds by not having a team represent. Consequences below will be enforced. 3. If your team begins round robin in the tournament, you MUST complete all three rounds. Not completing all three rounds of the round robin is not just bad sportsmanship, but it affects the final standings of teams that are trying to make it into the single elimination round. And again not completing the tournament is also a waste of your local areas funds. Consequences below will be enforced. Consequences: 1. If your team fails to show up for a higher level tournament without notice, the entire team will not be allowed to compete in that tournament the following year. Example: Your team doesn’t show up for Provincial Classic without notice: The following year you can play in the session ending qualifiers, but if you win, all you will get is the cash. The spot will go to the second-place team. 2. If your team fails to complete all three rounds of round robin in a higher-level tournament, the players that left the tournament will not be allowed to compete in that tournament the following year. Example: At the Provincial Classic, going into the third round, you know you have no chance of advancing to single elimination, and players make the choice not to continue leaving you with less than five players. The following year the players that left will be able to play in the session ending qualifiers, but if you win, those players will not be allowed to play in the Provincial Classic. If this leaves your qualified team with less than five players, all you will get is the cash, the spot will go to the second-place team. Unfortunately, there will always be teams going into the final round that know they won’t make the cut, but sportsmanship says you stay and try your best to play spoiler.
