Hello community! THE 705 is currently seeking 4 more volunteers. We are looking to cover Tuesday evenings from 630pm-9pm, every other Wednesday from 630pm-9pm and Thursdays from 5pm-7pm. Streets to School Did you know THE 705 is developing a program for individuals in recovery from addiction who would like to go back to school? This program offers support and mentorship through the process of applying for school, osap application, time management, stress management and school supplies. ... If you went back to school and would like to volunteer as a mentor in this program, please email us at [email protected] The commitment can be virtual and involves being available to support the student you have been assigned to mentor. You decide the capacity of support based on the students need. This commitment could be as small as one phone call a week. Another way to support this program is by donating. We need monetary donations to assist our students with school supplies, laptops, internet expenses, college application fees, text books etc. 100% of the proceeds donated specifically to this program will go towards helping a student build confidence and security for their future. If you have a family member, spouse, child, sibling or any significant other who is suffering from addiction and you don't know where to start, how to be supportive or need support yourself; this is the group for you! VALENTINE-O-GRAM EXAMPLES!!!!! THE 705 is hosting a Valentine-O-Gram fundraiser to raise funds for the centre. Send your loved one a Valentine gift, delivered by one of our volunteers right to their door step. Each Valentine-O-Gram contains a personalized greeting card, candies, chocolates, small gift (IE candle, gift card, book etc) and a balloon. $20 per gram, includes delivery. ...
