Today is International Day of People with Disabilities! "So, yes, today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It is a day created by the United Nations to reflect on the current positioning of disability and to map the next steps for true and authentic inclusion. This year’s theme is ‘Not All Disabilities Are Visible’, reminding us of the importance of intersectionality and an acknowledgement that the breadth of the disability community is almost immeasurable - covering visible, invisible, sensory, chronic illness, disease, mental illness and more."

Celebrating Nuri's courage and resilience "Seven years ago I was told that my cerebellum is not working properly and this is also going to deteriorate. I now know that I have a rare condition called SCAR 8. Easily explained it means that my autopilot is not working properly and this state is likely to deteriorate over time as well. However, I want to move forward. My motto is that I want ...to go from A to B. I don't care how I get there. I am very grateful to live in a country where wonderful tools are being invented to get someone from A to B when that doesn't work the usual way. That is how the Alinker came my way. A very cool balance bike that extends my range considerably. Through this blog I want to increase the reputation of the Alinker. And I also want to remove the stigma from aids. Having to use a resource can be something for the person who will use it or the environment. While the essence of a resource is: is a resource that provides help. The Alinker Family is now part of Chargieville! Chargieville is home to the The Chargimals - Physical and Mental Health Monsters, little monsters who each lives with a physical or mental health condition or general symptom. They live alongside the Normberts, who are the regular, healthy people that just don't understand what that's like to live with limitations. That doesn't stop the Chargimals though, every limitation has its solution. The Chargimals with mobility challenge...s really want to stay active so they partnered with Alinker and brought the Alinker Farm to Chargieville. Now they are able to have more fun adventures, like having races, playing sports, playing tag, and much much more. Joining their world and ours with a little touch of magic. We are also very excited to the adding smaller members to family of Alinkers bikes ranging from HS (the happy small), XS (extra small) and XXS (extra, extra small). "Just a casual jog with Mum, clocking up some Ks and keeping up my various challenges commitments. Found this milestone on my travels. We have a few dotted around Portsmouth UK. I have achieved many miles on my #Alinker this past year and achieved many unimaginable milestones and goals. Today I also tried out my new gloves after suffering with numb and cold fingers during the London Marathon despite wearing two pairs of gloves. I also tried out a new face mask specifically fo...r use while running. I found it more comfortable than the regular face masks and just is an added benefit to staying safe during the covid-19 pandemic which is still very much a threat here in the UK.
