I’m a first year Bachelor of Science. I don’t know what university would be like in-person, but being a first year right now kind of sucks. Being online is not great. I’m teaching myself a lot. You can email people for help, but you don’t always get an email back. There’s not a lot of guidance, you just have to figure it out on your own. I understand that you have to be more independent in university, but it’s really hard not knowing what to do. If I could, I would ask pro...fessors to take it a little bit easier on students. We’re all online, and we’re all trying. Online is definitely hard for professors, but it’s just as equally as hard on us. We’re all doing it for the first time, and there’s a lot of added stress being put on us. I know school isn’t meant to be easy, but being online and having a full course load is a lot at once. A lot of people that I know are in the same boat. Everyone is collectively struggling, which kind of makes me feel better. At least I’m not alone in that respect, but it’s still not going well! I’ve been thinking about maybe not doing school next semester and coming back after COVID is over because it’s so, so much. I’ve also been thinking about going to NBCC instead. I haven’t figured it out yet. We’ll see ********** Humans of UNB is a new series inspired by the popular photo series Humans of New York. Each post highlights a different person in the UNB community, and a part of their story.
