We enjoyed a wonderful visit in our Grand Design/The Island Tree workshop yesterday with Peter Bevan-Baker, Leader of the Green Party, and Trish Altass of District 23. So kind of them to visit us and display such encouragement for rural, family owned & operated businesses like ours.

I was in Richmond recently with Paula Biggar and had an opportunity to visit with Konrad and Susan Friesen of Grand Design and THE ISLAND TREE - creative wood p...roducts. Konrad and Susan moved to PEI from British Columbia with their two sons to establish a "one-stop home finishing and signature carpentry shop in rural and romantic Prince Edward Island." Their work is featured at Mill River Resort where they supplied unique locally made furniture and decorative touches. www.grand-design.ca

A nice message from our Premier

We had a wonderful visit in the shop the other day from our Premier and MLA. It was nice to share with them our story of moving here from BC and starting up the Grand Design cabinet shop and The Island Tree; and all the wonderful reasons PEI will always be our home. :)

We had such a great time working on that amazing reno with the folks at Mill River Resort and their design team. This time of year can be overwhelming for families with low income. If we all make the effort, we can bring a little bit of relief to someone else this Christmas. Its a wonderful way to get the kids involved and teach them about giving. Could even add a few hygiene products and some baby formula to help bless another.
