Take a deep Exhale... * pause Inhale.... welcome the awareness of the life force within you... *pause The Pause... it’s the subtle moment in between. ... Your next inhale is never for certain, no-one is guaranteed the gift of another breath. Yet we must TRUST that we will keep breathing & with that trust we must believe that we are living the ‘moments in between’ with integrity, and compassionate awareness. During my pause these past couple of days & digesting the difficulties of our global situation I have decided to suspend all In-Studio classes for 2 weeks. Virtual classes will continue! Our On-Demand Library will be accessible soon & we hope to resume our epic In-Studio visits by Dec 7. For now: Just Breathe... This is just a pause! Don’t let it stop you from exploring the magic that is within you. Nutrition in the Dark October to December is a blur. With the shorter days, and longer nights, it’s hibernation time... We often tend to stay indoors and pass the time eating food to bulk for the season. ... Eating is necessary; we need food to fuel our workouts! The foods we choose to eat can impede or elevate your workout and your mood. 1. Carbs are not the enemy... in fact they’re your friend! Healthy carbs such as sweet potatoes, oats, brown rice, and squash will give you the energy you need to power through a Tabata HIIT or spin class or even just to get through the day. 2. As we stay in doors during vital sunshine hours, Vitamin C and D are necessary to help combat the winter blues. 3. Stay hydrated. Drinking water can help perk you up. The first sign of dehydration is fatigue. If you’re feeling slow, drink up! Lastly, and most importantly... 4. Follow the 80/20 recommendation. Don’t always deny your cravings, eat a little ice cream or chips without regret and balance it out with vital nutrition. Stay Safe, Stay Happy, Stay Healthy this Season.
