A quick defensive driving tip for safely approaching intersections, especially when the road is icy and slippery. Instead of planning your stop for the stop line, imagine a line about one truck length back. Plan on stopping at this imaginary line. Once you are nearly stopped, allow the truck to idle up to the actual stop line slowly. This helps give you a space cushion in case it takes you longer to stop than you thought.

The CVP program is funded through the B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation and is administered by MNP LLP. The complementary SUVI program is administered by Fraser Basin Council. In an effort to promote this new funding opportunity to our target audience, we are requesting your support with sharing information on both programs through an email to your members, an announcement on your social media accounts, a section in an upcoming newsletter or a mention on your website. Please let us know if you are able to support us with our outreach efforts. You will find a draft email to distribute to your members attached. https://thetruckingnetwork.ca/cleanbc-funding-for-commerci/

Resilience and survivability are essential human traits. As the pandemic continues to exert pressure on all of society, change has become our mantra. How we cope is an individual mechanism, but we as a society must also cope as a unit, lest we implode. As we struggle with constant adjustments, a primary one has been that adjustment to social distancing and isolation. The human-animal is a social being, socialization is a basic need. We have all been tested, especially so those who are marginalized and those with preexisting health issues. Hopefully, society and our health care system will be there for them and everyone else in need through these trying times. https://thetruckingnetwork.ca/social-distancing-how-far-do/
