Having more energy is definitely one of the top 5 things clients ask about when they tell me what they would like to work on, and lets be honest most people are redlining their bodies week in week. Unless you have the work/life balance that lets you sleep until 9 am chances are you have tried something to boost your energy levels. Caffeine is the most popular and one of the most effective methods to do this and while I am known to pound back a few coffees to get the ball ro...lling you have to work on sleep. Its the foundation for everything. Your body doesn’t care about binge watching Netflix until 2 am or going for late drinks with friends. If you have a great sleep practice then you have room in your sleep budget for this, however if you are getting less than 7-8 hours consistently and don’t go to bed until after midnight you need to address this. Whatever your health/fitness goals are sleep will improve everything. Whats the difference between training and exercise? Training is what you do when you have a clear and specific goal. You have a path laid out and and every time you hit the gym or go for a run you know exactly why you are doing what you are doing. Training is adding 5 more pounds to bar week after week, working on faster times, or improving technique. Exercise is random. There is no set structure, movement selection is random, you go from bosu ball to treadmill and there is always the faint thought in the back of your head you don’t know if what your doing is serving a purpose. Set a goal, make a plan and stick to it for longer than a week. Progress takes time. Nothing worth doing is gonna happen overnight. #fitness #goals #weightloss #training #thriveperformance

More silly claims about weight loss. This magazines just keep getting more ridiculous. Its says November 30th as the issue. Lets say November 1st just to be fair. 48 pounds is some arbitrary number pulled out of hat right after a rabbit. Can some people lose 48 pounds in less than 2 months, sure. Some may even keep it off. But for the rest of us mere mortals it is just isn’t a good strategy. Don’t starve yourself before xmas than gain it all back with two weeks worth of egg nog. Find a sustainable way of eating that helps put you in a deficit that also allows you to enjoy life from time to time, it is actually possible! #eatrealfood #health #dietculture #fitness #thriveperformance #saynotothequickfix
