Thanks to the lovely WFM folks for the promotion this week! We will indeed be at market tomorrow with burritos and soap! Come visit!
Here are some baby goats to brighten your news feed.
Well, we made it. 2021 doesn’t feel a whole lot different than 2020. We had a little celebration dinner with our bubble of 6 last night, we stayed up a little l...ater than usual. But this morning the news on the radio is the same, the coffee in my mug is the same, and my prospects for the week ahead look pretty much the same. Despite its challenges, I think 2020 made people better in a lot of ways. It proved our resilience, it amplified our creativity, and it brought out a new level of compassion. On a personal level it provided new opportunities, new friends, new ways of doing things, and a new appreciation for what’s important. Whatever your 2021 looks like, I hope it looks a lot like 2020 in a lot of ways. I hope that, when once again we come out the other side, we can all feel we are that much better for it. Happy 2021.
The 29th was all about the boys but the 30th brought two girls to even out the numbers... one for Mia in the afternoon and one for Kona after supper.
So we’ve been a bit pre-occupied with baby goats this week, but tomorrow we’re back at market and there’s a whoooolle lot of bacon going on! Come try a bacon, leek and potato burrito. If meat is not your jam I’ll also have chipotle beet, chickpeas and brown rice. It’s gonna be almost as awesome as baby goats, I promise!
Kidding season has begun! Two bucklings yesterday. Who wants to guess what today will bring?
Most of the babies so far...
A trailer load of #christmastrees just arrived and the #goats are in their glee! #mininubians #wastenotwantnot #christmasfeast
There’s lots of talk right now about buying local for the holidays, especially during a time when a lot of small businesses are struggling due to the pandemic. ...I am privileged to know a lot of folks who make great things, so I figured it would be a good idea to feature one on my Facebook page every day until Christmas, a local shopping Advent calendar of sorts. Maybe it will give some friends ideas about excellent local gifts and treats to add to their holiday shopping list. Day 21: The Curd Girl / Sweetwood Farm https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=curd%20girl Heather Squires is The Curd Girl and if you like cheese you'll probably like what she has to offer. Heather raises dairy goats and a variety of heritage breed animals on her farm in Mahone Bay, but she's best known for being supremely cheesy! Heather sells DIY cheese making kits, suitable for use with any type of milk. She also offers cheese making classes, as well as cheese charcuterie boards. To give a truly cheesy gift this Christmas get in touch with Heather through her Facebook page.
The best part of kidding season...
Wishing the happiest of holidays to all our friends, customers and supporters. Thank you for another great (albeit absolutely weird) year. We couldn’t have made it without you.
