Does anyone remember the Sisson Ridge Knights, who played in the Provincial Baseball League in the 1970 and 1971 seasons. We have had a request for photographs of that team - anyone have one? Team members in 1970 included Louis Briggs, Phillip Briggs, Bob Duffy, Earl Hansen, John Jenkins, Dick Jenkins, Greg LeBel, Lynn Mahaney, Claude Porter, Larry Porter, Sam Porter, Bob Simpson, Jim Smith, Vaughn Tompkins and Jules Vaillancourt.
"Fraser adds Planer Mill" - 1978.
This picture came from Harv and Ruth Giberson's house in Plaster Rock..sent in by Wendi Giberson. It is made of birch bark, hardwood bark and moss. Anyone remember seeing these pictures before, or have any idea what the history may be?
From the library collection, photo is marked "Sam Hayden on the Mamozekel".
McAskill Mill, Riley Brook (photo donated to the Plaster Rock Public School Library by Lauchie Fulton)
Linton Corner School photo - probably taken late 1940's, from the library collection.
New "old pictures" show up everyday. Thanks to Hilery Hargrove for these pictures of one of the last of the log drives here. They were undated, but other slides in the batch were dated 1967-1969. The last log drive on the Tobique took place in 1968.
Tobique Valley Panthers.....late 60s. .....early 70s.....see anyone you know here?
This article by Willie Wark was published in the Tobique Times, January 20, 1994...a compilation of the many legends surrounding the famed Giberson Gold. (If you download the 2 images to your own computer, you should be able to increase the size of the page so it becomes readable.)
Our rootsweb website is back online! http://sites.rootsweb.com/~nbtvglhg/index.html After several months of rootsweb hosted sites being unavailable, it looks like our website is up and running again! I haven't fully checked it out yet, but this is good news!
The WW1 files are now complete and available!
This is a photo of who I believe to be Father Michael of St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in the 1950's.
