Some guidelines to remember for our Parade of Lights( under Covid -19 restrictions) on December 12 @ 5 pm. Those participants on floats, while waiting for parade to start in East End , please remain on your float. Residents should practice social distancing while on their floats as well as those viewing the parade. There will be NO walkers allowed in our parade this year. All participants must remain on floats at all times. ... There will be NO treats of any kind allowed to be passed out from floats. The maximum numbers of residents allowed on any float is 20 people ( Covid -19 small gathering regulation) as long as social distancing can occur. Once parade ends( by stadium ) floats and the public must proceed back to their personal /business property and not stop and congregate near stadium, as we have in the past. Prizes for best floats will be announced on this Facebook page and prizes can be picked up on Monday at our Town Office. There will be no free skate/Santa Skate after the parade. Please respect those around you while viewing the parade and follow social distancing guidelines. Do not gather in large crowds outside of your bubbles while waiting for the parade. Take advantage of the extended parade route to view the parade in the additional areas, as well as from your own residential property where possible. We hope you enjoy our Parade of Lights safely.
PLEASE NOTE. There will be NO Santa Skate or Events at the stadium after the Parade of Lights this year on Saturday, December 12. We hope to have this fun event back for all to enjoy next year. Stay safe.
Public Advisory Residents are reminded for everyone's safety that no private vehicles are permitted within the gates of the Public Works Depot at 3 Industrial Park. Heavy equipment is frequently operating and the operators are not expecting to encounter public vehicles. ... This is particularly an issue during the winter months for the prohibited activity of taking sand. We remind residents that this sand is for road use only. The Public Works Department has set up a Sand Pick-up Zone in front of the Depot (3 Industrial Park) for small private use around their homes. Please be respectful of this initiative and take only what you need. Let's keep everyone safe this winter and follow all posted signage.
To help with viewing our Parade of Lights and social distancing we are adding extra distance on to our regular parade route to include more of Little Bay Road as well as Corporal Bouzane Blvd. This will allow access to park in several extra big parking lots, as well as more space for viewers to social distance. Please see map for these new additions. *The original route will not change for the parade. It will still start at east end turn around. This is just a map of some of the additional route. * Please social distance or view from your vehicles if possible. Please share. --------------------
