Premier McNeil and Dr. Strang provided a #COVID19NS update today, January 5, including information on Nova Scotia's immunization plan. Nova Scotia is building a... strategic, flexible immunization plan with over a million doses of COVID-19 vaccine enough for more than 500,000 people expected to arrive in the province over the next six months. About 140,000 doses are expected by the end of March in the first phase of a three-phase immunization plan, and another million doses are expected to be delivered between April and June. Phase 1 of the COVID-19 immunization plan runs from January to April and includes front-line health-care workers; long-term care staff, caregivers and residents; seniors in the community (80 or older, followed by anyone 75-79); and other health-care workers. Phase 2 is expected to begin in May and will include remaining health-care workers and essential workers. Phase 3 will begin in summer and include all Nova Scotians who are not part of the Phase 1 and 2 priority groups. For more details, read the news release here: https://novascotia.ca/news/release/?id=20210105003.
