Sales in April were down 48% compared to April 2019. We started the year optimistic that the market was turning around after five difficult years in a row, but Covid conspired against us and we have a new challenge to overcome. Covid-19 shut down the world economy and the energy industry with it. Oil prices h...ave hit record lows and will probably be a bigger challenge for Alberta than the Covid pandemic. In spite of all the negatives, showing activity seems to be picking up since word came out that some of the restrictions to normal activity are being lifted. There are many opinions on whether it is too soon, just the right time or too late. Everyone has experienced this thing differently and only time will tell who is right. We respect all views and are dedicated to professionally and safely solving our clients housing needs. Alberta still owns the 4th largest oil reserves in the world and they will be needed in the future. While things look bleak now, we continue to be confident that the future of Alberta is bright.

I’ve found these to be so helpful in the past - and even more so now. Email Market Evaluations: FaceTime/Zoom. You can virtually walk me through your home (don’t toss a filter on it ) and answer questions. This allows me to do an analysis and provide you with a report on what your market is doing, comparable homes that have sold and best price to list at (among other information) Docusign: I’ve relied heavily on electronic signatures over the years with buyers and sellers - and this is a secure/legal way for us to get pen to paper. (Offers, condition removals, listing paperwork etc) How things will be Different: Open Houses have been BANNED. Showings: We are required to limit face-to-face meetings. These are on an absolutely must have basis. - Virtually will always be our first / safest choice. - There will be additional discussions/documents regarding COVID-19. - You will need to have your finance pre-approval letter ready. - Please think before you touch. Sellers work hard to have their home show ready. Guessing what buyers have touched after they come home/sanitizing their entire house takes even more effort. - Sellers are asked to leave lights on and interior doors/closets open to reduce the need to touch. - We will be taking separate vehicles, respecting social distancing, sanitizing and limiting those attending viewings to only essential people. (ie: children, grandparents, third cousins, friends, and Jim Bob from 3rd street need to stay home or creep from their car ) Know that we are trying our best to keep everyone safe.
