We can do better. Logging is an integral part of our economy and built the province and country that we know. But clear cuts of this magnitude are destroying ecosystems and watersheds. Sustainable forestry practices, selective logging and an end to old growth logging are crucial. Every residential deconstruction we complete saves roughly 30-40 trees from being cut. We need to unbuild in order to #buildbackbetter.

Lest we forget...on Remembrance Day let us take the time to reflect on the sacrifices that were made from our past and current service men & women in order to have the free and democratic society we are fortunate to live within. It is a solemn reminder to live with gratitude and appreciation for those that came before us and paved the road to the period of peace we have shared. Freedom and democracy are fragile and we must never forget that despite our differences, we must work together to maintain this great country so many sacrificed to build. #wewillnotforget #lestweforget #appreciation #gratitude

We have to give a massive shout out and thank you to Mel and her hard work, dedication, adaptability and positive energy to anything she sets her sights on . Mel has transitioned from on site labour, becoming a Site Lead quickly with her sharp attention to detail and then into the office as our administrator. Mel is transitioning onto something new and different. We are sad to see her go but so excited to see her path ahead as there is no mountain she can’t climb. Mel is ...a warrior for women in the trades, protection of our old growth forests, equal rights for all and social justice for the systemic racism and sexism built into the fabric of our society. She has made everyone she works with better, and approaches even the toughest of tasks with a smile. @melmcvillain you are a legend and you will be missed dearly We are so grateful for our time working with you. Peeling back the layers of time. There’s more behind our walls than old wood - there’s stories captured in those cells and beauty beneath the surface (and on the surface!). These 3x4s came out of a cabin built in 1900 in #delta from the Swedish settlers. The wood was milled from trees on the property and stood for 120 years including 2 cabin moves on logs Once we slice open the lumber you can see the gorgeous #oldgrowth wood grain . This wood is beautiful, tight grain, harder than modern lumber (3X) and can be used anywhere wood products are. Better yet, this lumber sequesters carbon and has 12x less footprint than new lumber. This resource is part of our #canadian heritage. It’s not waste, it’s just wasted! Don’t destroy your old building, unbuild it!
