Good news. A few days ago we heard that CMHC was tightening it's qualifying guidelines. Most importantly, applicants couldn't borrow as much as they could previously. Well CMHC's competitors, Genworth and Canada Guaranty, aren't matching CMHC's new approach. So we can still work with a 39% GDS, not 35%. We can also permit clients to borrow some of their down payment as long as the applicants qualify with the new proposed loan payment. Credit scores can be more relaxed too.... I hope this news puts a smile on some of your faces. The new pressure is off....for now anyway. Please keep my services in mind.
