If you haven't heard, the restrictions for team sports remain in place until Feb 5th. We are open for youth rentals for youth programs. Safety protocols are in place at HJSC and we continue to follow all provincial and federal health measures. For full details, click the link in our bio. All adult indoor volleyball is prohibited.... All youth volleyball programming is permitted but must meet Volleyball BC’s Transition Measures (Phase 2) in the Return to Play Plan which include the following requirements: Activities must be limited to skills development and those that permit physical distancing at all times (eg. individual serving, passing, attacking practice) No competitive volleyball as this does not permit social distancing. Participants must maintain physical distancing of 3 metres at all times on and off the court. There must be no more than 12 individuals per court (6 per side). No blocking at the net. Today is the last day for our Vancouver Island Regional Manager, Stephen Epp. Stephen's been the RM for the last 9 years and has helped grow the sport and Volleyball BC on the island. Whether it was a local club match, Provincials Championships or the Beach Tour, the work and dedication Stephen put into each event didn't go unnoticed. "Sixteen years ago, I got an opportunity to join Volleyball BC as a summer staff employee. At that time, I was a 21-year-old kid who thought h...e hit the lottery getting paid to hang out at the beach. For the next four years I worked on the island getting to know the volleyball community up and down the island. Over those four years I learned a ton about coaching and although I played Volleyball at what was then Malaspina College, it was working those summers where I truly fell in love with the sport. As an educator we tell kids when you get into the workforce, find your passion and figure out a way to earn your living doing that. I can honestly say that I have loved the last 16 years working within the volleyball world and specifically the last 9 years as the Island Regional Manager. Many people have asked me why I kept doing it since I had another job and my response was always that it never felt like a job it is a passion of mine and I enjoy doing it". I can also honestly say I would not be in the position I am today within the education world without the skill set that I have developed over the past number of years at VBC and the learning that I have been able to do under the leadership of many. Thank you for everything." Thank you Stephen for all your efforts and we wish you well as move into your new role at SD68.

A reminder for those in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health regions, you are in the Transition Measure Phase (Phase 2). If you are performing drills/practices in these two health regions, you are not to travel outside your region. Indoor volleyball can conduct physically distanced activities such as drills and practice with no more than 6 people on a court. (no gameplay). ... Spectators indoors are not allowed.
