We had a chat and here’s our plan... We will be closed from December 24th until January 11th. We will be open for regular business hours starting Tuesday, January 12th (and yes, the Rioja class will go on as planned that evening!).... The Breakfast Wine Pairing Class AND our New Year's Eve celebration will both be moved to Saturday, January 16th. Those who purchased tickets will receive a separate email advising of the new date. A few FAQs for your reference (because they are coming in fast and furious)... Q. Is it a set price per person for this event? A. No. The ticket price is essentially a seat holder to ensure we can seat everyone who wants to join us. The amount is deducted from your bill at the end of your visit. The menu will be a la carte as described in the event details and our usual HUGE wines-by-the-glass, international beer and cocktails will still be available but we will also be fe...aturing a larger, more extensive selection of sparkling wines and champagne. Q. How many people can I sit with? A. Currently,under the yellow COVID rules, the maximum seated together is 6. If that dips to the orange rules by NYE, the maximum per table will be 4. Q. Are there wines paired with each dish? A. As always, we never pre-set a food and wine pairing during our regular business hours (that only happens in classes). Once you have selected your food choices, any of our team will be happy to help you select wine pairings with each course. (Or the other way around if you want to choose your wines first.) Q. What if I can’t get there until 6pm - an hour after the first seating start time? A. We will do our best to make sure you have the full experience within your seating time, but we will still need to get ready for the next seating to arrive at 8pm as planned. Q. Any other COVID rules or things we should know before booking? A. Masks are a must for all guests entering the bar until they are seated and dining. We also insist on masks any other time you aren’t seated at your table - including using the restroom, looking closer at the wine selection or any of our pretty new decor. Q. Dress code? A. With the cool, fall weather underway and the rise of COVID-19 cases in certain areas in the province, we have noticed that most of our guests are visiting us earlier in the evening. Therefore, we are going to temporarily change our operating hours to focus our staffing needs to when we are busiest. Mea Culpa In our haste to get out the Tuesday Class descriptions for the rest of the year, we simply copied and pasted older class details without updating the wording. "Light snacks" and "small plates" is finally being changed today to now say "5 plated appetizers" to be more realistic.... (We are also scheduling reminder emails to attendees to please NOT eat before coming to the class.) Our portions are a great value (and even better tasting ) and change every week depending on the class theme AND the wines featured themselves. (This means that a Tour of Spain class won't necessarily always have the same food menu... will always depend on the wines featured.) Classes fill up quickly so book your seats ahead. We are limited to four tables per class only and only two of the tables can seat more than 4 people. It’s said that on a particularly foggy and melancholy day in the Bay Area of Southern California, a cook had decided to find a way to bring joy and light to those currently crowded in under an oppressively cloudy sky covering streets of Tooley Fog. This hero of the culinary world strolled into their laboratory of delicacies to ponder what food would be strong enough to beat back the fog, part the clouds, and bring smiles to the faces of their patrons. Sometime later, a mirac...le emerged from the kitchen, steaming, golden brown, and dusted with powdered sugar and maple syrup, the Monte Cristo Sandwich was delivered to the blessed soul who would first get to consume it.
