Public Update January 29, 2021 6:00PM This is to inform you of the search and rescue activities performed yesterday and today.... Yesterday we were informed that Mr. Philip Mettawaskum had never reached his camp when he left from the community. After the search was done from 6:30PM to 2:30AM and the continuation from this morning at 5:50AM to 3:45PM with the aid of a helicopter. We were notified by the aerial search team that they had spotted belongings that are believed to be of Philip Mettaweskum on the ice near open water. Upon the discovery of the belongings, we are now deeming it as search and recovery. The SQ diving team will arrive tomorrow by plane approximately noon hour to assist on the recovery. We will continue to plan how to assist SQ tomorrow. Please keep the families in your prayers
